A Bologna Sandwich, Not Beef Wellington: Cincinnati Does the Trick, Beats USF 28-7

It wasn’t great. At least in the first half.

It wasn’t pretty. Particularly on offense.

But a win is a win and the Cincinnati Bearcats head into a bye week with a 3-0 mark. Yesterday’s 28-7 victory over a spirited USF team was not what you would call classically handsome but it was sufficient to get a W.

After a shaky first half, particularly from starting quarterback Desmond Ridder, the Bearcats cut down on the mistakes and dominated the game’s final two frames.

There will be plenty for us and plenty for the Bearcats to breakdown about this game over the next two weeks.

But, in the end, this was a three-touchdown victory and a conference win. The Bearcats are still on track to compete for a playoff spot and deserve to be in the Top 10.

Let’s all take a look at the highlights and meet back here tomorrow morning for discussion sections.
