The 1-4 Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team returns to action this afternoon in search of their first conference win.

After dropping their AAC opener on Sunday to ECU, Cincinnati plays hosts for their second consecutive conference game.

Cincinnati faces off with 20th ranked South Florida, who enters the contest with a 4-1 mark and a 1-0 record in the AAC. The USF Bulls are led by a cadre of offensive weapons, including point Eliza Pinzan, who averages nearly 10 points per game and is second in the league in assists (5.2 assists per game).

USF features a robust, battle-tested frontcourt which includes Elena Tsienke, the team’s leading scorer, and Bethy Mununga, the team’s leading rebounder.

Cincinnati simply needs to find more offensive outlets than perennial All-Conference low-poster IImar’i Thomas, who is pumping in better than 20 points per game.

Full coverage of the contest will appear later today on Down the Drive.
