On Saturday afternoon, the Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team left Dallas with an impressive road win over the SMU Mustangs.
Cincinnati’s 73-58 victory was sealed in the third quarter, as the Bearcats turned a 32-31 halftime advantage into a 57-41 laugher after thirty minutes.
Junior forward IImar’I Thomas led the way for Cincinnati with 19 points on 8 of 12 shooting. Thomas also snatched 7 boards. Senior forward Angel Rizor had a game high 13 rebounds along with 9 points. Seniors Sam Rodgers (15 points) and Antoinette Miller (12 points) each reached double figures in scoring for the now 15-7 Bearcats.
Cincinnati has a 6-3 mark in the American, which is currently good for third place behind UConn and Tulane.
The Bearcats play a pair of contests this week. On Wednesday, they host last-place Tulsa (6-17 overall; 1-9 AAC) for an 11 matchup at Fifth Third Arena. On Saturday, they head down to Orlando for a key conference matchup with perennial conference power UCF.
