After watching our team last evening, I’m convinced they will make something of this season. They showed genuine grit and determination on the road last night.

The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team got back into the win column last evening, pulling past the Memphis Tigers 73-62.

Cincinnati (4-12, 3-9 AAC) trailed by one, 56-55, enter the final frame against the hometown Tigers (4-9, 2-6 AAC). A fourth quarter rally which amounted to an 18-6 Bearcats run helped Cincinnati earn its third conference win.

IImar’i Thomas paced the Bearcats, posting 23 points and dishing out a career-high 7 assists in a full 40 minutes of action. Sophomore guard Caitlyn Wilson continued her hot perimeter shooting, banging in 6 three-pointers on the way to 20 points.

Thankfully. Finally. The Bearcats return home for their next contest. On Saturday February 13th, they play host to the University of Central Florida. Check back with Down the Drive for full coverage of the contest.
