I’Imar’i Thomas’ Record Setting Evening

Senior all-world forward IImar’i Thomas further cemented her legacy as one of the top players in Cincinnati basketball history this evening.

She joined Oscar Robertson as the only player in UC history to score 50 points in a game.

Thomas’ 51 points, an AAC women’s basketball record, led the Bearcats to a 76-61 road win tonight over East Carolina.

The win improved the Bearcats overall mark to 5-15 and 4-12 in the AAC. It helps make the case that Thomas should be the AAC Player of the Year, despite Cincinnati’s struggles in 2020-2021.

What a genuine pleasure it has been to follow Thomas’ career at UC. She has been a standout from day one and a fantastic representative for the basketball team and the university. Rarely does one get to see a player be this good for this long in college.
