This was a tough one. The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team put up a tough fight against the NCAA Tournament-bound University of Central Florida Knights.
But it wasn’t meant to be this Tuesday night in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Bearcats women’s basketball season came to an end at the Dickies Arena, as Cincinnati fell 53-43 in a hard fought, competitive battle.
UCF led by between 5 and 10 points for most of the game. A quintessentially tough effort by graduating senior IImar’i Thomas, the AAC’s Player of the Year, kept the Bearcats in the game. She fought for 13 tough points. Sophomore Caitlyn Wilson added 13 herself, buoyed by 3 successful three-point shots.
A difficult campaign comes to an end for the Bearcats, as Cincinnati concluded its season at 8-16. Despite the loss of the legendary Thomas, Cincinnati will return a now veteran club that looks to head back to the top of the AAC in 2021-2022.
