The Cincinnati Bearcats baseball club looks to turn around their fortunes this weekend.

Cincinnati is currently 11-14 overall and 0-4 in the American.

The Bearcats opened their season of American Athletic Conference play last weekend with a thud, losing four straight games to the East Carolina Pirates. ECU is currently ranked in college baseball’s top ten.

Cincinnati may be facing an opponent more their speed this weekend.

The University of Central Florida Knights stand at 12-16 and 2-2 in conference play. The sluggish start is surprising from UCF, who was regarded before the season as one of the favorites in the American.

Last weekend, UCF dropped 2 out of 3 to arch-rival USF in the Battle for I-4. In the Saturday finale, UCF triumphed 3-0, largely through the outstanding pitching effort of right-handed senior starter AJ Jones, who surrendered just 3 hits over 7 scoreless innings.

Pitching matchups for the weekend have yet to be announced but expect the Bearcats to face him during the four-game set.

The series starts hot with a Friday afternoon double header that starts at 1 PM at UC Baseball Stadium. Limited attendance is being allowed for the weekend and all four weekend games will be covered on ESPN+.

On Saturday, Cincinnati and UCF tussle at 4 PM. On Sunday, the series closes with 1 PM matinee.
