What a proud weekend for the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Four Bearcats were selected in the 2021 NFL Draft—all of whom have a great shot not only to make their respective clubs but also a chance to find some significant playing time.
In the 4th round, the Cleveland Browns selected resolute Bearcats offensive lineman James Hudson, whose story of perseverance was told to the nation on ESPN’s draft broadcast. Hudson helps the Browns solidify an offensive line that has improved significantly in the last two seasons.
In the 5th round, the defensively deficient Washington Football Team selected Darrick Forest, adding some robustness to their pass defense as well as a legitimate hitter who can contribute to their run defense.
In round 7, the Arizona Cardinals brought the touching comeback story of James Wiggins full circle, as the Cards selected the hard-hitting safety who has recovered remarkably from the ACL tear which ended his 2019 campaign.
Finishing off the Bearcats day at pick number 244, the Miami Dolphins selected Cincinnati tailback Gerrid Doaks, who will most certainly figure into Miami’s multi-headed rushing attack in 2021.
What a proud day, Bearcats! Down the Drive will keep you posted on all of the details of each Bearcats’ comings and goings in the National Football League.
