Here’s hoping for the best for Cincinnati Bearcats alum Ian Happ, who was injured on Sunday in a scary collision with teammate Nico Hoerner.
Chicago Cubs centerfielder Happ has getting his hitting on track of late after a slow start. In the eighth inning of a 12-12 monstrosity, Happ was coming in for a tweener ball while Hoerner was racing out for it. The two collided in a way that caused Happ to take the worst of it.
Have a look at the clip below:
The Cubs have announced that Happ is suffering from rib contusions. It is still unclear how long he will be out.
Let’s hope for the best for our fellow Bearcat, who will bounce back from this, as he always does. Over his brief MLB career, Happ has demonstrated himself time and again to be a wellspring of perseverance.
Thanks as always for your support for Down the Drive.
