The Cincinnati Bearcats baseball team hits the road once again this weekend. They are headed down to the University of Houston for a four-game set with the perennially excellent Cougars.

This may not be the best Houston Cougars club the Bearcats have ever faced.

A young Houston club is facing a down season in 2021. They have thus far posted a 16-23 overall record and a 4-12 mark in the AAC. Pitching has proven inconsistent and in short supply for our colleagues in H-Town.

Cincinnati, whose bats have been particularly lively of late, have a great chance to make some headway in the American Athletic Conference standings this weekend. They enter with a 19-18 record and an 8-8 mark in the league.

The series begins on Friday with a 3 PM doubleheader. Bearcats southpaw ace Garrett Schoenele takes the hill in the opener while righty Zach Segal stars the nightcap.

Saturday’s game has a 3 PM start while the Sunday matinee has a 1 PM first pitch.
