Cincinnati Bearcats greats DerMarr Johnson and James White return to the hardwood this weekend. Both former standouts are playing in the Big 3, which is returning to action this weekend after a hiatus in 2020.
If you recall, these are half-court, first to 50 games featuring retired basketball stars. I remember really enjoying these contests in the summer of 2019.
The games will be featured on Saturday and Sunday on CBS. They will be played in Las Vegas’ Orleans Arena.
Dermarr Johnson, who recently joined Wes Miller’s coaching staff, is a veteran of the Big 3. In 2019, he played for 3’s Company, a club to which he returns this summer.
James White will be joining team Trilogy.
Johnson was a freshman phenom for the 1999-2000 Bearcats and the number 6 pick in the 2000 NBA Draft.
White was a second round pick of the Portland Trailblazers in 2006 and posted more than 1,000 career points for the Bearcats.
