Randy Martinez has been a mainstay at left guard for each of the last two seasons. He isn't a guy that wows the pro scouts, and his contributions tend to get overlooked compared with some of the Bearcats recent linemen like Sean Canfield, Jeff Linkenbach and Jason Kelce. But he took over the starting left guard position after the Fresno State game last year and he hasn't missed a start since. He probably won't get recognized on any of the All Big East lists at the close of the season. But he has been a source of stability since entering the lineup and is regarded as one of the leaders of this squad. For a bonus he is also one of the true characters on the teams and is always good for a some what disjointed if entertaining interview. To wit.
