Monte Taylor is a guy that has been around the program for a while, but took his time finding his niche, but once he found it he exploded into it. Taylor is a native of Los Angeles who went recruited out of High School. He found his way to El Camino Community College, (Same JUCO as Kenbrell Thompkins) where he again flew under the radar of the scouting services. Cincinnati was his only offer coming from the Warriors program. He was the rare jumbo athlete, 6'5" 240 pounds with no position. He was not admitted to UC and had to sit out the 2009 season, and there were doubts whether he would ever join the program. He played in 11 games in 2010, mostly on special teams and occasionally on the defensive line. He has really come into his own in 2011 becoming a fixture at defensive end in passing downs. He has registered 16 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 2 QB hurries.
