For both of these players this will be their second senior day. Pooler and Popham both transfered to UC using the Ben Mauk Rule from Atlantic Coast Conference schools. For Popham, the Northern Kentucky native it was Wake Forest. For Pooler it was the soon to be sinking Maryland ship. Both arraived on campus this off season expecting to compete and win starting jobs. For Pooler things went according to plan, he was the Bearcats starting Strong Side Linebacker for the first three games of the year and tallied 11 tackles and a TFL. And then he injured his knee and was lost for the season thrusting Nick Temple into a starting role where he has thrived. Popham could never quite best Tony Miliano in the off season losing the competition at the very end of training camp. Miliano has been impressive for a freshman. Even though neither transfer has been a 100 per cent success both should get their due.
