Cincinnati Bearcats 101 Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions 53 | Box Scorin

Last night the Bearcats took the Golden Lions of Arkansas Pine Bluff to the woodshed. Emphatically. This is going to be somewhat shorter than previous iterations of the Box Scroin segments because frankly there is very little predictive information gleaned from spending 30 minutes pouring over the box score of a 48 point blow out win. The story of the game was once again the offense. It will be the offense anytime you top 100 points even though the defense was suffocating all game long, the Golden Lions .73 points per possession is the third lowest output of the season, only the defensive efforts against Alabama State and Northwestern State were better. And this came facing 73 possessions compared with 69 and 66. One last defensive statistic. 40 per cent of all Golden Lions possessions resulted in a turnover. That's obviously quite a lot. To my mind the defense is the reason UC put the game to bed so early.

But back to the offense. Cashmere Wright had another fantastic game, posting an off the charts offensive rating of 203.6, by far a career high for Wright. Cash controlled the tempo all night long, got Sean Kilpatrick and Dion Dixon (not to mention Jaquon Parker) the ball in places where they could do damage. But his biggest impact came early in the game when he made 4 three pointers in a 4 minute span starting at the 16:49 mark in the first half. That came at a time when APB was haning with the Bearcats by making shots they would usually miss. Cash made sure that the good vibes wouldn't last for the Golden Lions. One other player that I want single out is Jaquan Parker who posted a career high 17 points in 18 minutes of play. A point a minute (basically) is crazy good. All in all another stellar offensive outing. Tomorrows game is going to be a blowout with a third straight triple digit game a distinct possibility. I am really excited to see what this team does against Oklahoma in a week.
