Five biggest snubs from the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 // The Dagger
Yancy Gates checking in at number 5. I don't get the snub though. On the one hand Yancy is the most talented member of a likely pre season top 25 team and probably should be on the list. On the other hand Yancy has never played at a Wooden level for any prolonged period of time.

The key from this is that the reported ideal number for the Big 12 is 10. As a UC fan you should obviously pull for the Big 12 to go to 12 or even 14 as this gives UC the best chance to keep AQ status. If the Big 12 sticks at 10 UC is oh so screwed.
Big East turned out OK in '03, can survive this time, too // Sporting News
I don't share in the optimism for the Big East, primarily because I fully expect the rules pertaining to AQ status to be thrown out and completely rewritten with the intention of making it a closed system between the ACC, Big 12, Big 10, SEC and PAC 12. If that happens it doesn't matter in the slightest who the Big East adds.
