Cincinnati 125 for 125 | # 39 J.K. Schaffer

Linebacker | Letters 2008-2011

J.K. Schaffer is the kind of guy who should get awards named after him. In fact UC has given out a linebacker of the year award since 2010. J.K. won it in 2010 and again after the 2011 season. So yeah that should be named after him now. Schaffer is one of a select group of players in Cincinnati history to register 100 or more tackles in three straight seasons. But it wasn't just his productivity as a tackler that makes JK stand out. It was his role as a primary play maker for the Bearcats in 2010 and 2011. He seemed to make plays everywhere, in the backfield, at the line of scrimmage, 20 yards down field in coverage. He was everywhere at all times and his leadership is the toughest thing to replace.
