The hits just keep on coming, Ross Trail a four star QB from Wynne Arkansas called his recruitment a day and committed to the Bearcats this morning. He becomes the 12th commitment for the Bearcats in the class of 2015 and the biggest one to date.
With Trail in the picture the Bearcats now have an obvious heir apparent to Gunner Kiel. All due respect to Hayden Moore who will get his chances and is by all accounts a gamer, he just doesn't have Trail's talent. In all likelihood the Arkansas native will redshirt the 2015 season, and take over as the backup as a red shirt freshman in 2016, Gunner's final season if he stays all three years.
What is going to be interesting to watch is how this commitment will play out as the Bearcats try to fill out the rest of their skill position slots. Of the 12 current commits 9 are slated for defense with just two, Daniel Cobb and Doug Bates expected to see the field on offense. With a QB of this calibre in the fold the Bearcats can become an attractive landing spot for the skill guys still waiting to make their decisions like Indianapolis's LeVante Bellamy. Stay posted to Down The Drive for more on Ross Trail's recruitment.
