Ashworth is similar in some ways to Garret Jansen who committed 10 days ago. He is not overwhelming athletically, but he has an effectively sudden first step and a motor that doesn't stop. The recruiting sites list his 40 at 4.5, and while all times listed by a recruit or a recruiting service should be taken with the largest dose of salt you can find Ashworth certainly plays fast.
There are several instances where he misses the initial play but continues to play and runs down ball carriers 30 or 40 yards downfield. He could have the outright speed to play as an occasional outside linebacker / DE hybrid. But the question would then be can he cover receivers in space, and that is simply an unknown at this point in time. I think he is athletic enough, but time will tell on that point.
