Thank you all for your support this season.
I will try to send us out as winners.
Bowl Season: 20-20
Season to Date: 160-101
National Championship Game: #4 Alabama vs. #3 Georgia (Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia).
Twenty-five years ago, Alabama played Miami in the 1993 Sugar Bowl, which itself was a de facto national championship game. It was a #1 versus #2 battle. The first of those that I remember in a bowl game. Alabama won quite easily. The game turned when Alabama safety George Teague ripped the ball out of Miami wide receiver Lamar Thomas’ arms as he sprinted toward a touchdown.
Teague, in fact, ended up with the touchdown, taking the ball back 89 yards for a defensive touchdown. But then he didn’t. It was called back on an offsides call. But this play was Miami’s last real stride toward a comeback victory. That was it. Miami’s spirit was broken.
I envision Alabama cruising to a similarly decisive victory against Georgia in the 2018 National Title Game.
Final Score: Alabama 34 Georgia 13
