The wait is over. Jacob Evans has officially been drafted into the NBA. He was selected 28th overall by the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the NBA Draft on Thursday night.

The 6-6 wing played in 105 games in three years for the Cincinnati Bearcats, averaging 11.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game. In his junior year, when he was a first-team All-American Athletic Conference player, he netted 13 points per game, while setting career-highs in rebounds (4.7 pg) and assists (3.1 pg).

Assuming he makes the roster for next year, Evans will become the third former Bearcat to be playing for an NBA team currently, with Sean Kilpatrick (Chicago Bulls) and Lance Stephenson (Indiana Pacers) the others.

It will be interesting to keep an eye on Evans and the back-to-back NBA Champs as they deal with budgets and team makeup in the next couple seasons.
