Clayton Picks All the Games Correctly: Week 3 Thursday Special

BC vs. Wake Forest is a battle of undefeateds in the ACC

Massachusetts v Boston College

Week 3 of the college football season kicks off with a showdown of ACC undefeateds.

Boston College (2-0) at Wake Forest (2-0)

Dave Clawson’s Demon Deacons have had a strong start to 2018. They outlasted Tulane in a fantastic 23-17 overtime battle in New Orleans in week one. Last Saturday, they pummeled an overmatched Towson club 51-20. Wake Forest has displayed offensive diversity in its first two matchups and has played steady defense. This will not be enough to overcome a Boston College team which is en route to its best season in a decade.

The Eagles have hammered a pair of in-state rivals in their first two contests (UMass 55-21 and Holy Cross 62-14). In both outings, the Eagles’ punishing running attack, led by Heisman Trophy candidate A.J. Dillon, has put away inferior opposition quickly. Sophomore quarterback Anthony Brown appears to have improved significantly in his second season as the Eagles’ signal caller. BC’s defense is rugged as usual, led by All-American linebacker Connor Strachan. Expect Wake to hang in there early on before giving way to a simply tougher and stronger Boston College club.

Final Score: Boston College 31 Wake Forest 17
