Women’s Basketball Hammers Tulsa, 70-50

The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team picked up a crucial road win this afternoon, pummeling the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 70-50.

The win improves UC to 11-7 overall and 3-2 in the American.

Cincinnati dominated the game from the opening tip, stifling Tulsa’s offensive (which shot .388 for the afternoon). Cincinnati led 25-12 at the half and never looked back.

The Bearcats found the mark all afternoon, shooting a season-best .556 for the game. Cincinnati scored 40 of its points in the paint and dominated the boards, 39-24.

Four Cincinnati Bearcats reached double figures: sophmore forward Ilmar’i Thomas, who is making a strong case for All-Conference honors, led the team with 18 points. Junior guard Antoinette Miller added 15 points while junior forward Angel Rizor posted 10 points and junior guard Sam Rodgers scored 12.

The Bearcats return to action on Wednesday evening. They host the Houston Cougars at 7 PM at Fifth Third Arena. Head on back to Down the Drive for full coverage of the game.
