Bearcats dominate the Shockers

The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team improved to 7-3 in league play on Sunday afternoon, cruising to an 82-54 victory over the Wichita State Shockers in front of a large home crowd at Fifth Third Arena.

The now 15-8 Bearcats took control of this game in the second quarter, building a 35-22 lead by the time the teams went into the locker room for halftime.

Cincinnati blew the game even further open in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Shockers 28 to 15.

Cincinnati shot remarkably well all afternoon, hitting more than half of their shots.

Junior guard Antoinette Miller posted a career high 23 points in the victory on 8 of 11 shooting. Sophomore forward Ilmar’i Thomas nearly reached a double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing nine rebounds.

Cincinnati returns to action on Wednesday evening, heading down to Memphis for a tussle with the Tigers.
