The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team put on a show on Senior Day.
UC pounded AAC rival South Florida, 57-43. The Bearcats posted their 19th win of the season, improving their overall mark to 19-9 and their conference record to 11-4, clinching them a third place finish in the season.
Cincinnati took control in the second quarter, building a ten point halftime lead (31-21) which they never relinquished.
Junior forward Angel Rizor and sophomore forward Ilmar’i Thomas each posted a team-high 13 points for the Bearcats. Junior guard Sam Rodgers kicked in 11 points and six assists in the win.
Cincinnati held South Florida to under 20 percent shooting for the evening, putting on one of their best defense performances of the season.
The Bearcats will be seeking out their 20th victory in their regular season finale on Monday afternoon in New Orleans. Cincinnati will be facing Tulane. Check back with Down the Drive for full coverage of the contest.
