The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team cruised to victory in its AAC Tournament quarterfinals matchup with Memphis.

Cincinnati won a 68-48 contest that the Bearcats led from the opening tip, held a commanding lead at the half, and blew wide open in the third quarter.

Cincinnati (21-9) held a 38-28 halftime advantage, having asserted particular control in the lowpost. Cincinnati outrebounded the Tigers 26-15 in the first half and 45-34 for the evening.

The crowd of better than 3,000 at Mohegan Sun Arena watched the Bearcats display their typical offensive balance and stingy defensive work. On the defensive end, Cincinnati held Memphis to 16 of 56 shooting, less than .300 from the field.

On the offensive end, five different Bearcats reached double figures: Angel Rizor (14 points), first-team All conference selection Ilmar’i Thomas (12), Antoinette Miller (11), Sam Rodgers (10), and Florence Sifa (10).

Cincinnati returns to action tomorrow evening at 6:30 PM. Playing before a national audience on ESPNU, Cincinnati will face off with perennial power UCF.
