Is it any surprise that Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell is on the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Watchlist?

Smart, Saban, Swinney, Riley. Some of the other names that join Coach Fickell on the list.

Of course it isn’t.

Luke Fickell has turned the sputtering program of the later Tommy Tuberville years into a not only a conference power, but, according to ESPN, a contender for the College Football Playoff.

Cincinnati is primed to take the next step this season. Not only to win the AAC. This tough, veteran, and battle-tested team is primed to compete for a national championship.
