A Brief History of Cincinnati Versus Tulsa Football

The Cincinnati Bearcats are historically on the wrong side of their rivalry with the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. But not by all that much.

In 35 meetings, Tulsa holds a 17-16-2 advantage in the series. Between the late 1950s and the late 1970s, the clubs played regularly and Tulsa dominated.

Things have changed in recent years. The Bearcats have won 7 of the last 8 matchups, including 3 of the last 4 during their co-tenancy in the American Athletic Conference.

Last season, your Cincinnati Bearcats met Tulsa in the AAC title game, which was a genuine slobberknocker—a 27-24 game decided in the final seconds.

I expect a similarly competitive and physical contest this weekend.

Here are the highlights from last season’s championship game tussle last December with Tulsa.

Let’s enjoy this fantastic season as it hits the home stretch.
