Junior Corner Back Dominique Battle has suffered another major injury and will be lost for the year. The news comes via Tom Gelehrter. This will be the second consecutive season that Battle has been unable to finish due to Injury. Last year his season was cut short due to a torn MCL suffered in the Oklahoma game. Battle was injured on Sterling Griffin's TD reception from B.J. Daniels which is unfortunately immortalized in GIF form for all eternity. This is a a blow to the secondary to be sure, Battle was arguably one of the top two corner backs on the team. The silver lining, if there is one, is that Deven Drane is, in my estimation, the most talented defensive back on the team. Going forward into 2012 its tough to tell. Battle was granted a medical hardship for the 2010 season and has one more year to play. But I believe that the ACL in question is in the same knee that suffered the MCL tear which could make a return to full form that much harder. I think I can speak for the group in saying that we all wish Dominique Battle a speedy return to full health.
