Derek Wolfe Named Football All-American. Twice.

Derek Wolfe turned in one of the great individual seasons for a defensive linemen in UC history. His 9.5 Sack, 19.5 Tackle For Loss masterpiece is one of the best individual seasons that I have seen from a Defensive Tackle. DT's simply aren't supposed to put up those kind of numbers. For his labor Wolfe has already been named the Big East's Co-Defensive Player of the Year. What's more in the last few days Wolfe has added All America honors to his resume. Yahoo! Sports and Sports Illustrated have both named Derek to their All American Second Teams. Wolfe is the 6th UC player to garner All America recognition since the 2007 season joining Terrill Byrd, Mike Mickens, Trevor Canfield, Mardy Gilyard and Kevin Huber. Mickens and Huber were both named All America in two seasons. I have the feeling that more honors are coming Derek Wolfe's way as UC gears up for the Autozone Liberty Bowl at the end of the month.
