"We showed much more (character) tonight," said UC coach Mick Cronin, who was critical of his players Saturday. "No question about it, to be able to bounce back after what happened Saturday. It was fortunate for us that we played right away. If we practiced, I would have probably thrown some guys off the team. I wasn’t real happy."

3-point shot: Hall, Cincy are contenders - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN

1. Seton Hall and Cincinnati have as legitimate a shot to finish second in the Big East as any other teams. Both are veteran squads and are making winning plays late in games. The schedule is also kind. Nothing is a given, but the Hall doesn’t play Syracuse again (lost at Carrier Dome), won’t go to West Virginia (won at home) or Georgetown (Feb. 21 at home). A trip to UConn on Feb. 4 still remains. Cincinnati gets Syracuse once – at home (as well as the Hall). A trip to UConn and West Virginia Jan. 18-21 looms large. The rise is a credit to both the Hall and UC, but it also shows how the Big East is sagging with key programs (Louisville, Pitt, Villanova) suddenly down.

Not sure I think the Bearcats contenders for the #2 spot, but right now they are there officially. Cracking the top 4 at the end of the season would be a great accomplishment for this team.

Guyn OK, back in Cincinnati | UC Athletics Blog
Ge'Lawn Guyn is back in Cincinnati. The long gap between games might allow him to play against Villanova, though I would expect Jerehmiah Davis to get more run in his absence

"We haven’t decided," he said. "We’re looking at all that. I wouldn’t be surprised at that but I’d hate to get too far out in front of that. We’re looking at the same thing at football. If we have the prices too high and they won’t work, we’ll lower it."

The key thing for tickets, both Football and Basketball is to find a way to segment the market further in terms of seating options, particularly for those who aren't members of U-Cats.

Players like Big East change | The Indianapolis Star |

"I think it's a great look. I feel Boise State and all the other different schools coming in can give us a great conference," said Warren Central running back Deionte Buckley, who graduated early and has already enrolled at Cincinnati. "If we have one of the best schedules, we have more of an opportunity for a national championship. That's what we want to do."

Not going to lie, was kind of worried about the Big East's lack action for soooooo long would hurt with recruiting. Hasn't hurt with this class.
