University of Cincinnati senior guard Dion Dixon has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll the league announced on Monday. Dixon, a native of Chicago, scored a game-high 20 points with a pair of three-pointers and 8-of-10 shooting from the foul line in leading Cincinnati to a 62-57 victory over Seton Hall on Saturday. He also contributed five rebounds, five assists and two blocks against the Pirates. It marked Dixon’s fourth 20-point effort of the season and the seventh of his career. He passed former UC great Tom Thacker for 28th place on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,167 career points.
Another great game from Dixon
BE Efficiency Margins, 2-20: UConn, USF struggle vs elite - Rumble In The Garden
That middle features a team in Cincinnati that should be NCAA-safe (though we will revisit that safety after the South Florida game next Sunday), a South Florida team with a gaudy record but some bad losses, and a few teams whose performances have been middling-to-bad in the past 3 weeks.

Either way, its seems like Syracuse, Notre Dame and Marquette are all locks to earn a double-bye, while Georgetown, South Florida, Louisville Cardinals and Cincinnati Bearcats still have shots at snagging the last, double-bye slot.

2. Cincinnati. Zach Collaros' worth to the team was illustrated when he got hurt against West Virginia. The Bearcats lost their grip atop the Big East and ended up sharing the league title. Munchie Legaux was not great, but Collaros was. Cincinnati may have relied more on the run this year, but I thought Collaros and Isaiah Pead complemented each other perfectly. Preseason ranking: 2.
Collaros's role as a leader of the Bearcats can't be over stated. But this was the worst season of Zach's career. The receivers didn't do a lot to help him this year true. But the decision making on the whole took a dive this season.
