I probably should have done something like this sooner, as in yesterday, but I am not that good at this. Clearly. The double bye is in effect so the Bearcats won't be in action again until 2PM Thursday which is a good thing considering just how banged up Cashmere Wright and Justin Jackson have been down the stretch. What we do know is that UC will play one of three teams in the quarters, St. John's, Pittsburgh or Georgetown.
The Hoya's have the bye and will match up with the winner of the Johnies and Panthers tomorrow. All of these games are 2 PM tips in case you are wondering. If UC wins in the quarters a likely 7 PM match up with Syracuse looms in the semi's. That would be a defacto home game for the Orange. As every Syracuse game in the tournament is likely to be.
As for the all important question of who Bearcat fans should be rooting for tomorrow and Wednesday I would say St. John's for the simple reason that there are unlikely to be any surprises in that game being the third match up. Georgetown is a big challenge, but the UC does have some match up advantages against the Hoyas with JaQuon Parker and Sean Kilpatrick. Pitt is a wildcard. Because of Tray Woodall this Pitt team is not the one the Bearcats beat at the Peterson Events Center on New Years day.
Strap in an enjoy the next five days. Its always a blast.
