The Bearcats are in DC today, or more accurately just outside DC for a business trip/home game. In the Butch Jones era the Bearcats have had two cracks at knocking off a name brand program. In 2010 the Bearcats gave Okalhoma all they could handle, with a stellar performance from Isaiah Pead, but came up short. Last season UC headed south on I-75 to Knoxville to face the Vols. Again Isaiah Pead had a virtuoso performance, again the Bearcats came up short. That puts Butch at oh for two in these kind of games. Barring a BCS trip this year the Cats won't get another shot like this until the 2014 match up with Ohio State.
This is a golden opportunity for the program to get a signature non conference win before the non league slate softens up, big time, next year. Virginia Tech is a good team, but this is the best chance the Bearcats have had to win a game like this. That is reason enough to tune in. Go Bearcats!
