Cincinnati Bearcats Sean Kilpatrick Invited To USA Basketball Tryouts

The biggest reason why is that Kila has a whole lot more to gain from a week spent practicing with Doug McDermott, C.J. Fair, Bryce Cotton, Quin Cook, Andre Hollins a Co. than he would kicking around Deveroes which has zero defense played and maybe a guy or two on opposing teams who are capible of making him work.

If he makes the team its all for the better. Another two weeks playing and practicing with some of the best players in the country. Yancy Gates was invited to tryout for the 2011 team. He did not wind up making the final squad, as Kenyon Martin and Eric Hicks did. But the experience had a positive effect which showed up in his game. He came back more assertive and more active than ever before. Gates wound up posting career numbers in his senior season, and while it is impossible to separate the effect from the cause for something as complicated as statistical averages, it is not unreasonable to infer that the experience had something to do with it. Here is to hoping that Kila will have a similar reward for the work he puts in.

If Kila is to make the final roster of 12 these are the guards he will be up against.

That is quite a list to be sure, but Kila is in with a chance because his ability to shoot the basketball is a major plus in the international game.
