Cincinnati and Pitt, who will go their separate ways next season as the Bearcats compete in the American Athletic Conference while the Panthers head to the ACC, will meet on Dec. 17 in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York City as one of two high-profile games in the annual event.
Marquette and Florida will be the night cap for the double header.
That the Bearcats have been invited to the Jimmy V Classic says a lot about where the program is, perception wise. The last time UC was in the game was in 2002 when a team headlined by Field Williams, Jason Maxiell and Leonard Stokes hammered a fairly well regarded Oregon team.

With the Panthers in the fold the main pieces of the Bearcats schedule should be in place. The question will be whether the Bearcats will give San Diego State what they want? UC wanted a suitable home game to replace San Diego State, and though the game is at MSG the SDSU people will surely use the game as a suitable excuse to push back this years meeting to next year.
