Tracking The Bearcats Opponents; Week Three

Its rough, very rough

Andy Lyons

Not Quite There Yet || Hammer and Rails

With Henry and the offensive unit driving over Notre Dame in the first drive for the touchdown, it ended up setting the tone for the rest of the game. It got the crowd and team pumped up and make Notre Dame shaky. Say what you want about Ross-Ade, non-Purdue fans, it can be a tough place to play when the team and crowd get going (just ask Ohio State). It also helps when you don’t throw an interception on the first play.

It was hard not to be impressed by Purdue last night, they played exceptionally well in the loss to Notre Dame. Rob Henry looked competent and confident. Its amazing what two weeks can do.

Washington 34, Illinois 24 || The Champaign Room

For the second straight week, the Illini won both review booth challenges on fumbles. Whichever rich alumni is paying off the booth official (I'm looking at you, Hef), please continue to do so.

So thats how they managed it.

Rapid Reaction: Maryland tramples UConn, 32-21 || The UConn Blog
Tonight, the scoreboard read 32-21 for UConn’s second game of the season, but the most important thing is that the final nail of the coffin holding this era of UConn football has been hammered in. Bye, bye Coach P.

Memphis Falls To Middle Tennessee State

Memphis might actually be terrible. Maybe. OK, definitely.

SMU -- bye, next at Texas A&M

Rutgers Tops Eastern Michigan || NJ.com

Rutgers was once again the recipient of a big game from Paul James. He rushed for 192 yards on 21 carries -- 9.1 yards per carry average -- and scored three touchdowns.

It was an emotional day as Eric LeGrand's number was retired. Also of note, Gary Nova was injured.

Houston -- bye, next at Rice

TWEETCAP: Louisville 27, Kentucky 13 || Card Chronicle
Louisville was not at all sharp against Kentucky, but they had too much firepower for Kentucky which is, and will remain, an SEC bottom feeder.
