Coming into today, the Bearcats 2015 recruiting class included 18 prospects. However, it wont end that way tonight as '15 WR James Gardner decided to flip his commitment from Cincinnati and head to Miami (OH).

The 6'4, 190-pounder from Fort Lauderdale was 10th highest rated prospect in the Bearcats class and the only other wide receiver. Gardner's flip to the RedHawks now leaves Cincinnati with just one commit listed at the position; '15 WR Braxton Neal from Lakota West High School (OH).
Gardner originally choose the Bearcats over offers from Appalachian State, East Carolina, FIU, Miami (OH) and Western Michigan but has since decided he would like to spend his collegiate years in Oxford as a RedHawk.
Miami (OH) head coach Chuck Martin will be adding a three-star wide receiver to his current class of 17. Gardner is ranked as the 139th overall pass catcher, the 196th prospect in Florida and the 1,380th overall player in the country. The RedHawks will now jump to the 90th ranked recruiting class in the country according to 247Sports.
As for the Bearcats recruiting class, they will drop three spots in the rankings and will now sit at No. 69 in the nation. The loss of Gardner also leaves '15 OT Reed Armagost, '15 ATH Daniel Cobb, '15 CB Jhavonte Dean and '15 OG Evan Mallory as the only prospects committed to the Cincinnati from the state of Florida. UC will now begin looking for another wide receiver target for '15 QB Ross Trail to find in the passing game.
