I don't think I need to pose an argument that the Offensive Line was a big need in this class. If you need to hear that argument again, here you go. Earlier today, the Bearcats took a huge step forward in filling that need by gaining a commitment from their top O-Line target Evan Mallory.
Louisville offered the bigger conference, bigger stadium, etc..., but in the end the promise of playing time was more attractive to Mallory. Mallory also had offer from UCF, Illinois, IU, Purdue, Kansas, and others. Needless to say, this is a huge get.
Mallory is over 300 pounds and stands 6'4". He will likely redshirt his first year. Cincinnati often rotates 9-10 guys on the O-line, so Mallory will likely get substantial playing time after sitting out a year. With an already impressive class of 20, Tuberville and co. are doing a great job filling Cincinnati's pipeline of talent. Hopefully we can hold on to these guys all the way to signing day.
Welcome to Cincinnati Evan.
