Gunner Kiel Named Starting QB for the Cincinnati Bearcats

Just a few days into camp, and we already have a starting quarterback.

It might not be a surprise to most, but Cincinnati Bearcats' head coach Tommy Tuberville has officially tapped sophomore quarterback Gunner Kiel as the starting quarterback for this year's football squad according to the AP's Joe Kay.

This should quiet any concern that Munchie Legaux's recovery from torn knee ligaments and cartilage would force a quarterback battle during pre-season camp. Tuberville had thrown a few veiled comments out this summer, but the common thought amongst most fans was that Kiel would be under center this fall.

Kiel officially takes over a Bearcat squad that was picked to win the AAC earlier this year.

The Bearcats kick off the season September 12 at Paul Brown Stadium, looking to avenge a 2012 loss to the Toledo Rockets. Stay tuned for more camp updates as they happen.
