Center Nysier Brooks, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, is the second player to sign his national letter of intent with the Cincinnati Bearcats for the 2016-17 season. The 6-foot-10, 235-pound center for Life Center Academy, located in Burlington, New Jersey, is a three-star prospect. Brooks has a 247Sports Composite score of 87, which is simply a compiled score from the major media recruiting services, and is considered the No. 7 prospect in the state of New Jersey, the No. 27 center in the country and 197th player nationally, according to 247Sports. ESPN has Brooks ranked the sixth best player in the state with a rating of 77.

Last season, Brooks averaged a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. He also averaged four blocks a game. He has officially signed, choosing the Bearcats over the likes of Seton Hall, Saint John's and South Carolina. Brooks is a big body for Mick Cronin to work with in the coming years. His addition is key given the sheer number of upperclassmen big men who will be leaving minutes up for grabs when they graduate.
