The AP Top 25 Preseason Poll for men's college basketball was released today with the season right around the corner. Cincinnati finds themselves outside the preseason poll, although they do have their fair share of votes beyond the Top 25 with 63.
North Carolina sits at No. 1 with Kentucky, Maryland and Kansas filling out the top 4. Each of those teams also received votes towards the No. 1 spot. Duke is No. 5 (no first-place votes) and Virginia at No. 6 has one first-place vote of their own.
Cincinnati finds themselves behind AAC foes Connecticut and SMU as the Huskies are ranked 20th and the Mustangs have 112 votes to their name, just beyond the Top 25 themselves. Iowa State, a team the Bearcats play on Dec. 22, are ranked 7th. Cincinnati also has the 24th ranked Butler Bulldogs on the schedule for Dec. 2.
While football continues along, the college basketball season is just around the corner. The Bearcats will take the floor tomorrow night against Grand Valley State in an exhibition match at Fifth Third Arena beginning at 7 pm.
