There have been some shake-ups in the AP Top 25 and Amway Coaches Polls this week. Clemson has overtaken Ohio State for No. 1 in the AP Poll, although Ohio State retains the majority of first-place votes in the Coaches Poll.
Alabama and Oklahoma State are also higher in both polls because of big wins and the TCU loss (at the hands of Oklahoma State). LSU, after their loss to the Crimson Tide, fell to No. 9 in both polls, while TCU fell to No. 13 in the AP Poll and No. 12 in the Coaches Poll.
Our AAC twist begins with Cincinnati's foe this past Saturday, the Houston Cougars. The Cougars remain unbeaten with the 33-30 win over the Bearcats and have climbed up to No. 16 in both polls. Temple, having survived a shootout with SMU, remains in the bottom part of the rankings at No. 21 in both polls. Navy beat Memphis, dropping the Tigers to 25th in both polls, and pushed the Midshipmen into both Top 25 rankings. Navy is No. 22 in the AP Top 25 and No. 23 in the Amway Coaches Poll.
For what it's worth, BYU is on the cusp in both polls, earning 35 votes in the AP Top 25 and 40 votes in the Coaches Poll. That means the Bearcats have four losses to the likes of Temple (21st), Memphis (25th), BYU (27th) and Houston (16th).
