The Bearcats are celebrating a 70-59 win over Houston, pushing their record to 13-5 (3-2) on the season. Cincinnati broke out to an early lead before letting Houston back into the game late. However, compared to some of this season's previous games, Cincinnati bounced back and closed out a tough game against the previously 13-2 (3-0) Houston Cougars.
Larry Davis talks about the game being another "high deflection game", which is always a good thing. Davis also focused on the resiliency of the Bearcats when Houston did storm back late in the second half. Davis also spoke about Kevin Johnson's performance after Johnson led the team with 15 points, knocking down four three-pointers. Johnson and Octavius Ellis also spoke with the media about the win over the Cougars and about the upcoming game with Temple.
Cincinnati hits the road on Saturday, Jan. 16, to face the Temple Owls. Temple handed Cincinnati one of their five losses on the season with the Owls beating the Bearcats at Fifth Third Arena at the end of December. Tipoff on Saturday is at noon.
