Back at home after a disastrous trip to Philadelphia, the Cincinnati Bearcats (4-4) will attempt to pick up the pieces against the BYU Cougars (4-4) in a non-conference joust at Nippert Stadium.
Putrid second half offense resulted in a 34-13 drubbing at the hands of the Temple Owls for UC last weekend. The loss was the third in the last four games for the Bearcats, who had finally shown glimpses of its offensive acumen the week before against East Carolina. Time has run out on the possibility of turning the season around entirely, but there is still an opportunity to earn a postseason bid over the next four games.
BYU has suffered a great deal of heartbreak this season and is probably one of the best teams in the country sporting as many wins as losses. Led by a powerful rushing attack featuring Jamaal Williams and a nasty run defense, the Cougars will be a real challenge for a scrambling-to-find-answers UC squad.
