From the Video Vault: A Tribute to Blaine Huber

Blaine Huber oversaw the revitalization of @downthedrive

The great Blaine Huber recently stepped down as editor-in-chief at our fine website.

Blaine oversaw the revitalization of Down the Drive.

His consistent production of timely and high-quality posts, his ability to manage a number of different writers on a number of different schedules, and his willingness to integrate a wide range of content have provided Down the Drive with a foundation for its continued growth.

The Down the Drive family wishes him nothing but success in his future ventures.

From the Video Vault, I'd like to offer a tribute to Blaine. One that recalls the summer of '93. The summer that Lex Luger body-slammed Yokozuna on the 4th of July.  Lex Luger put us all on his shoulders that summer, the way that Blaine has the last couple of years at downthedrive.com.

It all ended at Summerslam 1993 when Lex Luger beat Yokozuna by count-out, giving Lex the victory but keeping the belt on Yokozuna for a range of feuds that lasted until Wrestlemania X, when Yokozuna tripped and Bret Hart won the belt but lost to his brother earlier that evening and Lex Luger had some beef with Mr. Perfect but then ended up at the Mall of America on the first episode of WCW Monday Nitro.

Blaine, I wish you luck this August at the Barclay's Center in your Summerslam match against Yokozuna. I know you will pin him 1-2-3 in the middle of that squared circle.
