The All-Time Favorite Cincinnati Bearcat Basketball Player Tournament: The Final Bracket

After a week and some comments from the community, we have our field of 64.

Danny Fortson Cincinnati

A week ago we unveiled the tentative bracket for the All-Time Favorite Cincinnati Bearcat Basketball Player Tournament. In the post, I called out to you, the readers of Down the Drive, to suggest any adjustments or players that were left out. Based on feedback we got, we restructured the bracket to better reflect what you guys wanted.

First, the four regions, while retaining their names, are now no longer generation specific. We will now have inter-generational matchups to vote on, rather than brackets filled with players from specific eras.

Secondly, we added a handful of players who were left out of the first version of the bracket, especially Field Williams, who was clamored for by more than one of you. Below you will find the new bracket. Note that the winner of the Ed Jucker region will face the winner of the Gale Catlett region, with the winners of the Bob Huggins and Mick Cronin regions facing off.

The Ed Jucker Region

The Gale Catlett Region

The Bob Huggins Region

The Mick Cronin Region

Now that we have our final bracket, its time to start debating and voting. A breakdown of each matchup and links to vote will be included in individual posts for each region over the next few days.

Editor’s note: The original final bracket had Ron Bonham twice, both as a No. 7 seed in the Bob Huggins Region and a No. 9 seed in the Mick Cronin Region. He has been replaced in the Cronin Region by Leveretis Robinson, who just missed the cut originally.
