Women’s Basketball Looks to Continue Winning Ways Against East Carolina

Bearcats Hammered Tulsa on Wednesday Night

The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team looks to continue its winning ways this afternoon. UC has headed down to Greenville, North Carolina for a 5 pm contest with the East Carolina Pirates.

On Wednesday evening, Cincinnati got back in the win column, posting a decisive 74-47 victory over an outmatched Tulsa club. The Bearcats led by 21 at the break and saw 11 different players score. Antoinette Miller led the way with 17 points while Florence Sifa, one of the conference’s most improved players this year, kicked in 14.

Cincinnati improved to 17-9 overall with the victory and now possess a 9-4 mark in the AAC, good for sole possession of third place in the standings. The Bearcats, unbelievably, are still not considered a tournament team by ESPN’s Bracketology, but that may well change as Cincinnati faces a favorable schedule down the stretch.

The ECU Pirates (13-13 overall, 4-9 AAC) have struggled of late, dropping their last two games. East Carolina are now slouches though. Lashonda Monk is one of the top point guards in the AAC and Raven Johnson is a fearsome low-post presence.
