The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team earned its 18th win this afternoon, pulling away early in a 68-57 road win at East Carolina University.
Cincinnati (18-9 overall; 10-4 AAC) took control of the game from the opening quarter, taking a 21-16 lead after 10 minutes of play. The Bearcats posted an 11 point lead at the half, leading 39-28 at the break. UC held serve for the remainder of the contest.
Guards Florence Sifa and Antoinette Miller both scored 17 points, a team high for the contest.
Cincinnati shot nearly 43 percent, outscoring ECU 28-24 in the paint. They dominated the boards, outrebounding the Pirates 45-29.
The Bearcats, who hold sole possesion of third place in the AAC, return to action next Saturday, placing host to South Florida in their regular season home finale.
