The Cincinnati Bearcats women’s basketball team fell behind early and never made up the lost ground.

The now 2-6 Bearcats (1-3 AAC) fell behind 16-8 after one frame to an aggressive Tulsa club who controlled the pace of play throughout. Tulsa forced 19 Cincinnati turnovers over the course of four quarters.

Late in the game, Cincinnati made a run, cutting the lead to 53-51 with just over three minutes remaining. Senior superstar IImar’i Thomas led the way as usual, posting 24 points and 11 rebounds for her second consecutive double-double.

As usual, the Bearcats had trouble mustering much offense outside of Thomas. No other Bearcat reached double figures. This is the fifth time in eight games that this has been the case for Cincinnati.

The Bearcats return to action of Saturday January 9th at 2 PM as they host the Tulane Green Wave.
